ABOUT FORTUS
I’ve started over, too.
I’m Manny Martinez, founder of Fortus Fitness. I’m a personal trainer with a background in technology, learning and development, customer support, and project management. And I know what it feels like to struggle with your weight, even when you already know a lot about fitness.
My journey has taken me from being out of shape to becoming a trainer, back to struggling with my own fitness, and eventually to asking for help and starting again.
Fortus grows out of that experience: what I’ve learned, the support that helped me move forward, and the kind of coaching and tools I want to put into other people’s hands.

Knowing what to do is only part of the story.
When I first improved my fitness and became a trainer, I gained knowledge and experience that I could use to help others.
But my own story kept going. My focus shifted toward my career in technology, and over time, I found myself out of shape again. The knowledge was still there. Putting it into practice consistently had become harder.
Getting help was part of finding my way back.
I started again with more experience, a better understanding of my own struggles, and a renewed passion for fitness. I also came back with more appreciation for what it takes to make changes stick and how valuable it is to have someone in your corner.
That perspective stays with me as a coach. When someone tells me they’ve lost momentum or don’t know where to begin again, that’s familiar territory.
Meeting people where they are is what I do.
A big part of my work in technology is building programs and processes that meet people where they are and help them develop in ways that are meaningful to them.
That starts with understanding their experience, what they’re working toward, and what might be getting in the way. Then I create structure, guidance, and opportunities to put what they’re learning into practice.
I bring that same approach to coaching. Your starting point, goals, and life shape how we work together. I want you to understand why you’re doing something, recognize your progress, and build the skills and confidence to keep moving forward.
For me, helping someone learn and helping someone improve their fitness share a common responsibility: making the next step understandable, useful, and achievable.
A plan should make sense in your life.
Your goals matter. So do your schedule, preferences, energy, and the responsibilities competing for your attention.
My approach starts with understanding those things and building a plan you can realistically work with. From there, we pay attention, communicate, and adjust.
That means purposeful training, practical nutrition guidance, and habits you can develop over time. It also means honest conversations about what’s working and what needs to change.
Some weeks, you’ll have the capacity to push. Other weeks, we’ll need to adapt. Learning how to navigate both is part of building consistency.
You’ll have work to do. My job is to help make that work clear, manageable, and worth your effort.
Why fitness and technology belong together here.
I’ve spent much of my career helping people understand complicated information and use systems more effectively. Building Fortus brings that experience together with my work in fitness.
Fitness technology can give us plenty of information. Making sense of it and deciding what to do next can still be difficult, especially when workouts, nutrition, habits, and recovery live in different places.
I’m developing Fortus to help connect those pieces and make them more useful in the coaching process. The goal is to make information easier to understand and connect it to practical next steps that make sense for each person.
I want clients to better understand their progress and coaches to have tools that help them provide thoughtful, timely support. Every feature should earn its place by helping someone learn, make a decision, or take action.
Today, Fortus coaching is delivered through Trainerize while the dedicated Fortus platform is being developed and tested. The coaching experience is helping inform what I build next.
You can begin from where you are.
Whether you’re getting started, returning after time away, or looking for more direction, we can begin with your life as it is today.
Tell me what you want to work toward and what has made it difficult. We’ll talk about whether Fortus is the right fit and what moving forward could look like.
You got this. And you can have support along the way.
